Palmitoylethanolamide 500 mg (PEA)

PRESENTATION: 60 capsules

INGREDIENTS: Palmitoylethanolamide (PEA), anti-caking agent (magnesium stearate), coating (cellulose capsule).

TRADITIONAL USE OF ITS COMPONENTS: Palmitoylethanolamide (PEA) is a natural lipid component that is present in some foods and is mostly synthesized by the body from palmitic acid and ethanolamide, ingested in the diet. An important role is attributed to this natural substance, among others, in the treatment of chronic (low-grade) inflammatory processes and in chronic pain and neuropathic syndromes.

  • Rheumatic conditions: arthritis, ankylosing arthritis.
  • Febrile inflammation
  • Bone inflammation or bone inflammation: is an overload reaction at a site where a muscle or tendon is attached to a bone. In case of prolonged overload, inflammation may gradually develop here. The result is pressure pain (severe) and possibly redness and swelling. Treatment usually consists of rest in combination with anti-inflammatory analgesics such as PEA.
  • Ulcerative colitis
  • Dermatitis (Palmitoylethanolamide counteracts inflammation, itching and pain)
  • Dystrophy
  • Face pain (Trigeminal neuritis)
  • Back pain
  • Menstruation pain
  • Rheumatic pain
  • Rumped pain (pain in the coccyx)
  • Vaginal pain
  • Endometriosis
  • Crohn's disease
  • Fibromyalgia
  • Herniated disc
  • Herpes zoster
  • Neuralgia
  • Mesenteric panniculitis is a chronic, idiopathic inflammatory process that mainly affects the adipose tissue of the mesentery of the small intestine.
  • Psoriasis
  • Uveitis
  • Seronegative spondyloarthropathy: shares certain clinical features (e.g., back pain, uveitis, digestive symptoms, rash). Some are associated with the HLA-B27 allele. The clinical and genetic similarities suggest similar causes or the same pathophysiology. Rheumatoid factor (RF) is usually negative in spondyloarthropathies (hence their designation as seronegative spondyloarthropathies). These include ankylosing spondylitis, reactive arthritis, psoriatic arthritis and other conditions. Spondyloarthropathies may occur in association with digestive conditions (enteropathic arthritis) such as inflammatory bowel disease, intestinal bypass surgery or Whipple's disease.

INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE: Take one capsule after breakfast and one after dinner.

CONTRAINDICATIONS: The use of PEA may result in high levels of endocannabinoids (specifically arachidonoylethanolamide [anandamide, AEA). Low levels of anandamide are good and high levels are bad for blastocyst development, one of the first stages of development of a mammalian embryo.
Since the blastocyst develops at a time when the woman normally does not yet know she is pregnant, PEA is contraindicated for women who wish to become pregnant, as well as during gestation.

ADVERSE EFFECTS: PEA has hardly any adverse effects and therefore has a great advantage compared to conventional analgesic drugs.

INTERACTIONS: No known negative interactions with other drugs. With simultaneous use, PEA can enhance the function of conventional analgesics.
