TRADITIONAL USE OF ITS COMPONENTS: It can be used as a mild laxative. It is a natural tranquilizer, which produces relaxation of skeletal muscles as well as the muscles of the blood vessels and gastrointestinal tract. Deficiency of this important mineral is related to arterial hypertension, renal lithiasis, heart disease and, particularly, heart attacks due to coronary spasms (Magnesium contributes to relax and dilate the coronary arteries).
It is a food supplement that has three main functions: to act as a gastric antacid in sufficient quantities, to have an osmotic laxative effect without contraindications and to provide magnesium in a natural way. In the stomach, it acts as a local antacid by behaving as a base and thus neutralizing hydrochloric acid. Its effects are slow but prolonged and precisely because it is not a very strong alkaloid there is no risk of alkalosis, nor does it hinder proteolytic digestion.
In the intestine, and in sufficient quantities, it acts as a mild laxative when previously transformed in the stomach into magnesium chloride, a non-absorbable salt, which by osmosis improves intestinal transit. It usually takes effect 4-12 hours after ingestion, without producing colic or irritation.
As a magnesium supply, the intestine releases magnesium ions, which are absorbed by the intestinal wall and pass into the blood. Magnesium is a cation that acts mainly in bones. It is beneficial for bones as it is necessary for calcium absorption. In the skeletal and nervous systems, magnesium is part of the coenzymes necessary for the conversion of ATP into ADP, which is necessary for the correct functioning of muscles and nerves.
INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE: Take 2-3 tablespoons a day.
CONTRAINDICATIONS: Abstain in case of severe liver cell damage.
